The V^th International Workshop on Layered Materials, IWLM-V, will be held at the Faculty of Sciences and Technologies, University of Haute-Alsace on August 27-29, 2014 in Mulhouse, France.

The workshop is endorsed by the International Zeolite Association (IZA) and the Association internationale Pour l’Etude des Argiles (AIPEA) and is co-organized by the University of Haute-Alsace, Mulhouse, France, the University of Strasbourg, France, the Institutes of Chemistry from the University of Campinas, University of São Paulo,Brazil, the Dipartimento di Scienze e Nanotecnologie Avanzate of the Universitá del Piemonte Orientale, Allesandria, Italy and the Institute of Geosciences, Mineralogy and Geophysics of the Rhur Universität Bochum, Germany. Alsace is in the eastern part of France, close to the Swiss and German borders, which is one of the best places to enjoy beautiful landscapes, French food and wines, in a typical atmosphere.

The organizing committee cordially invites colleagues from diverse disciplines and industries around the world to attend this meeting.

The topic” From the bulk to nanosheets…” will be declined into for sessions:

-  rational design of layered compounds,

-  characterization,

-  functional materials,

 - applications.

The workshop will include plenary lectures and oral presentations, posters will be held all along the workshop.  The best posters and oral communication will be awarded.
